Meet Our Ministers, Staff, Life Coaches, and Facilitators

Pastor Tami Recob

I was born at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana and am a small town Indiana native.  Growing up in rural Pike County, I graduated Pike Central High School, got married and started a family.  God called me to serve the church in mid-life.  Prior to attending seminary, I held a Bachelors in Accounting and a Masters in Management and had worked in the tax accounting field for the last 14 years in Newburgh, Indiana.  However in obedience to God's call to ministry, I graduated with a Masters of Divinity in May 2015 from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. I was then privileged to engage in the intensive and rigorous training of Clinical Pastoral Education as a Chaplain Resident in Deaconess Hospital's Religious Life Department.  There I learned the skills necessary to truly minister to all people.  I was ordained in December 2016 and then God led me to accept the call to ministry the Holy Spirit had enabled Hemenway to offer.  My family and I are greatly overjoyed with the future ahead as we love the HMPC congregation and its members more and more each & every day.

Gay Baker (Organ & Piano)

I grew up in Mitchell/Orleans area near Spring Mill State Park. Began piano lessons at seven years of age and started playing in the church around 12 years of age. Before moving to this area in 2002, I was active for over 25 years in Mitchell Presbyterian church. Served on several committees, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was part time accompanist for many years. During that time I also worked for Mitchell community schools, playing for the high school choir and varsity singers. I have been in Evansville/Newburgh area for 15 years and have been a member and active in Newburgh Presbyterian Church since that time, just recently finishing a term serving on the Board of Deacons. Sang in choir and was part time accompanist at first but for many years have been a full-time accompanist.

I have two grown, married children and four grandchildren. My main interest outside of music is spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren. Two of them live in Newburgh and the other two reside in Mitchell. I also am an avid walker and I have completed 13 half marathons in the last 6 years. I am very much looking forward to working with Pastor Recob and accompanying at your Hope service. Thank you for the opportunity to serve our God in this way!
